Connect
⑧ connection steps and ⑩ roadmap / feedback are still to be written. See
docs/public-page/content-spec.md. ⑧ is blocked on two things: the production domain is not live yet (shipping the dev domain would force every authorised client to re-authorise when the URL changes), and every copyable command has to be run by hand once before it goes on the page (L-7).
Scopes, rate limits and boundaries
We would rather put the boundaries up front than have you hit them halfway through a project.
Authorisation
Once connected, your client walks you through a standard OAuth authorisation. ArchLink MCP
only verifies tokens; it never handles your password. The token is issued for one scope,
archlink:tools — calling the tools listed under Tools, and nothing else.
The slow tools return as jobs
Tools that take minutes do not hold the conversation open. They return a job id immediately, and your client collects the result later at the interval given in the response. Use the interval it gives you. Polling every second will not make the job finish sooner; it will only get you rate-limited earlier.
What this does not do yet
- Tokens expire after 24 hours, and no refresh token is issued. In practice, heavy use means re-authorising about once a day. That is a deliberate trade-off for now, not a fault.
- Cancelling a job only stops the part that has not started. Requests already sent upstream are not recalled, and computation that has already run is not rolled back. Cancelling a nearly-finished job saves you almost nothing.
- Job results are kept for 7 days and cannot be retrieved after that.
- Image and table links inside a result are valid for 1 hour, far shorter than the job’s own retention. Download anything you want to keep, promptly — for 7 days you can still look the job up, but its links will have expired long before.
- The tool descriptions the server sends to the model are written in Chinese. Your client will display them as-is. It does not affect what language you ask questions in, but the descriptions in your client’s interface will be Chinese.
Rate limits
Limits are applied per user, including a cap on concurrent jobs and a daily job quota. The exact numbers are still moving during the closed beta, so they are not pinned down here; when you hit one, the response tells you which limit it was and when you can retry.
